| I guess I'd always wondered what
"Truth" was. I'd heard this term bandied about quite often
but never had I heard an explanation that seemed right. I'd read so
many books but I still didn't understand what "Truth" was.
Then one morning I was walking through
the park, still thinking about "The Truth". I was so irritated
about not knowing that I said out loud, "What IS this Truth
thing anyway?" Then I looked around to see if anyone had heard
me!
I didn't have to wait long however,
when a few days later I saw a poster on the notice board of a shopping
centre advertising free meditation programmes. There was a picture
of an Indian lady which was very striking and underneath the words,
"You will never know the truth unless and until you are connected
to the power which created you."
Wow! "This looks interesting!"
I thought. The next week I went along to the programme which was
held in a youth "drop-in" centre. The room was covered
in graffiti and garish posters. In the corner was a small table
with a photograph of the same Indian lady which I had seen on the
poster. A candle was burning and the smell of incense filled the
room. Everything seemed so peaceful and serene. It was amazing
that in the midst of all these horrible scrawlings such peace was
being emitted.
A lady called Linda introduced herself
and we started the programme. We watched a video of Shri Mataji,
the founder of Sahaja Yoga. I knew my search for the truth was over
when I heard Shri Mataji say, "I bow to all the seekers of
Truth." (That's me, I thought) and "The Truth is, you
are not this body, this mind, this ego and these conditionings,
but you are the Spirit." and "You have to be born again."
I received my Self-Realization that
evening and felt the Cool Breeze of the Kundalini on my hands and
head. I had never felt so peaceful and so thoughtless! Just
pure meditation.
Well within one week I had given
up alcohol completely. I couldn't meditate after drinking and I
was enjoying the meditation much more, so it was goodbye to drinking!
Since my introduction to Sahaja
Yoga, my life has just flowed. All my problems seem to have been
dissolved into the ocean of bliss. Not that I haven't had small
problems, but they have all been completely resolved through
the power of Kundalini.
Through Sahaja Yoga I have met and
enjoyed the friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood of thousands
of people from around the world. I've married my dear wife from
Russia and together we have travelled the world.
I can thoroughly recommend Sahaja
Yoga meditation for anyone of any age, country, religion or race.
If you would like to experience the bliss of self-realization, I
suggest you follow the links on this webpage to find out more about
where you can attend programmes in your city or country.
All this has happened through the
tireless work of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi who has brought this knowledge
and experience to the common people of the world.
